 Revalving is done when you feel the performance of the car is outside the window of the dampers ability to control some aspect of the vehicles motion.  This can mean a lot of things, but often it's when the spring rates exceed the original intended range of rates and weights the dampers were built for.

     We base our revalves on a few things:

  • Feedback from the driver.
  • Damper brand/design and the components being utilized to augment the valving.
  • The type of changes being made to the car.
  • How and where the car is used.

     This is all a combination of experience and engineering which depends on the amount and quality of the information we have to work with.  We can revalve anything from the rebuild page.  Some of the most basic information needed will be the spring rates and corner weights.  Other details about your setup will help us as well as how the car is used.

What is revalving?

Revalving is fundamentally the investigation and process of changing the characteristics of the damper to meet given requirements.  They are best done along with a rebuild service. The requirements can be given by the customer directly describing vehicle behavior changes needed or it can come from providing details about the car and utilizing our capabilities to specify a setup.

Improved performance

Whether you need to maintain your aero platform, increase grip out of bumpy sections and curbing or simply match the damper to a new spring rate the revalve can be a cost effective way to increase performance. The nature of the valving will depend on the components utilized and the requirements needed. For example, a system with a digressive piston will necessarily be treated differently and give different results than a system with another type of design etc.

New suspension systems are expensive and it's easy to be convinced the new setup will solve all your issues. Sometimes you just need to have a short call with us to determine if and how we can alter what you have to fully meet your needs and extend the current setups usefulness.
