Dyno & Setup Analysis
Test and Verify
The shock dynamometer, or "Dyno", is a piece of equipment that combines data acquisition and a controlled environment to help consistently specify what a damper is doing. You can use a dyno for all kinds of things that require displacement, force etc and you can even measure bushing stiffness with the right approach.
The dyno helps us on a daily basis by:
- Determining if your dampers are working correctly.
- Validating the rebuild process we performed.
- Giving an insight to adjuster functionality and range.
- Measuring friction and changing gas forces.
- Testing for leaks and temperature related issues.
If you think you are having an issue with a shock or you want to validate a setup and make sure the shocks are up to the job a dyno test is the way to verify.

Finding the right setup
Setup analysis is a service we offer where we take your vehicle parameters and we dyno test the dampers to gauge if the correct characteristics are present. This can extend beyond just the dampers and become a discussion about other areas of the car.
We dyno prior to any work so that we know going in if we should be changing the valving characteristics. This is often a part of a revalve request and comes with additional cost.

Do you always dyno test your shocks?
We validate every sports car and racing rebuild and revalve with the dyno after the work is performed. Dynoing prior is not always necessary or possible and is done case by case.
